    Pre-Separation Air Filtration System
This time-saving technology boosts the efficiency of the engine’s filter system, doubling the time between air filter cleanings. Air drawn into the engine is first separated via centrifugal force, ejecting the heavier dirt particles before being routed to the air filter. This pre-separation means less dirt to be captured by the air filter, resulting in less frequent cleaning and maintenance.

  • Zoom
    Side-Access Chain Tensioner
The side-access chain tensioner makes it much more convenient for the user to adjust the saw chain with a bar wrench as opposed to the typical location of the guide bar adjustment screw.

Toolless fuel and oil caps with retainers
Simply lift the lever and twist the caps to remove or tighten. There‘s no need to use a tool to tighten or loosen.

    Decompression Valve
The decompression valve, also referred to as 'deco' or 'deco valve', vents compression in the cylinder for easier starting. The decompression valve temporarily reduces the compression in the combustion chamber during cranking and helps reduce the effort needed to pull the starter rope. It is opened manually and closes automatically as soon as the engine fires.

Important Information
WARNING! The occurrence called “kickback” can cause serious or fatal injury. Always read the instruction manual carefully before using your saw. STIHL uses a green and yellow color-coding system to help you select a powerhead, bar and chain combination that complies with the kickback requirements of ANSI Standard B175.1 (gasoline-powered saws) and §30 of UL 1662/ ANSI Standard B175.1 (electric chainsaws). Ask your STIHL dealer about safe operating procedures and the advantages of the STIHL Quickstop® chain brake, STIHL Quickstop® Plus (Q) additional chain braking feature, STIHL reduced kickback bars and STIHL low-kickback saw chains.

STIHL recommends the use of green reduced kickback bars and green low kickback chains on all STIHL chainsaws.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Give me the old 044 any day I purchase 80 new Stihl chainsaws a year for the past 22 years for my business, most models being 044, 440, 066, 660, And 661! The current MS 441 and MS 661 are big letdowns! Hard to start, the 044 and 066 started within 4 pulls, the 441 may take 30 pulls, and they don’t run very well! By far give me the old 044, and 066 any day! I only buy Stihl but if they keep building this new stuff that’s junk, they will force me to change brands to the red chainsaws!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from quality and dealer cut at least 14 cords of fire wood a year, I own a ms 170, 362c-m,441c-m, and a 661c-m, my dealer gets me what I ask for every time, had to try this saw out as soon as I got home with it today, and I have to tell you it runs very close to my 2 yr old 661c-m, my dealer opesalisbury.net is great, you will not regret buying this saw

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This could be a good saw if the problem was fixed. I bought my 441 awhile back. Ran fantastic for the first while then started having starting problems. Felling trees in the deep snow made me put the saw on the shelf cus it didnt like running in the snow. Tried using it during the spring/summer/fall but it would run a bit and quit. Got to the point where it simply would not run for more than 5 minutes. I parked the saw for the last 4 years and today I figured I'll try and get it apart and find what its problem is but reading theses posts, I can see others are having the same problems. This also tells me that Stihl has not fixed the situation and has left owners with a white elephant. So sad good product lines have to be bypassed due to getting stiffed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better late than never . Bought a new 441 about 8 years ago from a stihl dealer. It has a 25" bar and I have never needed anything else. This is a professional saw, it is heavy, it has high compression so it's tougher to start, always starts on 5 pulls or less. Runs strong. I run 100ll avgas exclusively and have never had to do anything other than clean the air filter, replace one bar, and sharpen or replace chains. USE NON ETHANOL GASOLINE and you'll never need another saw. This saw has cut over 100 chords of firewood in 8 years.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Midsize powerhouse I own this Chainsaw since 2013 cut every year 14-16 cords of wood With no problem whatsoever This is meetsize saw and you have to treat it like that only 70cc some people put 28-32 bars on this chainsaw that's really pushing this saw to the limit if you want to ran 28-32 get ms460 I only ran 20 inch bar And this chainsaw is bad boy I never had a problem with the starting either starts every time I used to not believe in the technology but this M Tronic works really good I would never go back to the regular carburetor

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I own lots of stihls , this is horrible Bought mine brand new from the dealer, 441 rcm, full wrap m tronic. 25 inch bar and it dogs like i couldnt believe. The saw quality wAs great, but it literally had no power at all. I re calibrated the computer a few times as the manual said and still had no power. Brought it to 2 diff dealers and they told me it was fine. Finally sold it and bought a used 460, put the same bar and chain on, works great. Moral of the story i should of bought the 460 that was on the shelf while they were still avaiable. Do not buy this saw!!!! I still love stihl and premote their products, just not this one!
